Lindi Joy Sheppard, a native of South Africa, moved to the United States in 1991. Raised in Richmond, Virginia, she grew up with an artistic approach to everything. She knew at a young age that the fashion industry was her calling. Out of high school, she received a full scholarship to play volleyball at North Carolina State University. She decided to study Industrial Design. However,  in 2002, she had a change of heart and made a decision that was one of the best and most important decisions of her life.


Lindi Joy Sheppard transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University where she continued to play volleyball. However, it was that she changed her studies from Industrial Design to Fashion Design. As a sophomore Lindi Joy Sheppard received the Outstanding Design Award from the VCU Fashion Design Department. During her final semester, she designed a Spring Collection of bridal gowns that showcased in two fashion shows, one being the VCU Fashion Show. The second show that showcased her gowns was entitled Catalyst 15 Fashion Show, held at Plant Zero in downtown Richmond, Virginia. Lindi Joy Sheppard received rave reviews from several boutiques in Carytown of Richmond. Her Spring Collection encompassed elements of nature that created for a soothing atmosphere.


In late 2005, her husband joined Lindi Joy Sheppard. His role in the company relates to business strategy and fuctions such as finance, marketing and legal. He is currently working to develop the branding of Lindi Joy Sheppard within the bridal industry of their target market.
